@hearst - Reality Bites Hard!
It may seem like a new craze, but since the 1940s, "real people" have been happily embarrassing themselves on televisions. One of the earliest reality programs was Candid Camera, which debuted in 1948. In recent years, the reality genre has been represented by That's Incredible (1980), The People's Court (1981) and America's Funniest Home Videos (1990). MTV's The Real World, now in its 10th season sparked new interest in reality entertainment. And then, of course, came the juggernaut - Survivor.

The beauty of the area was appealing in the early years and it remains an attractive community that entices visitors to become residents. Today, South Orange presents a mix of people from all walks of life. The diversity of South Orange's population makes it one of the most interesting and unique communities in the state. As diverse as the residents may be, they exist as one unit that is devoted to a strong educational and value system for its children, a safe, friendly neighborhood for its independent seniors and a cohesive community base that works together to preserve South Orange's past and build its future.

It began as a rural community in the 1700s, evolved into a resort destination in the 180s and grew to the bustling suburb we now call home. The Village of South Orange has become the latest subject in a series of historical books on American hometowns. "Images of America; South Orange" is the photo-packed publication…written by Village resident Naoma Welk, and partially funded by the Montrose Park Historic District Association (MPHDA).

Since the 1960s, when more women began working outside the home, scratch baking has declined and the traditional image of Mom making those after-school cookies has faded. To reverse the decline in home baking, Rhodia and other members of the Home Baking Association have dedicated themselves to growing the practice. By focusing on education and promoting the teaching of scratch baking in classrooms, HBA is working to ensure that future generations will continue the tradition.

Citibank - NRA Withholding Update
The U.S. Internal Revenue Service ("I.R.S.") recently issued four new Forms W-8 (i.e. Forms W-8BEN, W-8ECL, W-8EXP and W-8IMY) and related instructions which, other than Form W-8IMY can be used immediately to comply with documentation requirements for both current and new Nono-Resident Alien (NRA) regulations scheduled to become effective January 1, 2001.

As one of just ten civilian pilots approved to fly the Air Force Heritage routine, Snodgrass helps celebrate more than fifty years of the F-86 Sabre, during which it built a remarkable record. The first swept-wing fighter launched its carreer in the Korean War. During that conflict, the F-86 Sabre experienced a 10:1 success rate over enemy aircraft. Snodgrass also maneuvers the historic F-86 Sabre into acrobatic twists and turns and low passes that highlight the vintage Skyblasers' paint scheme.

Protecting the whole environment includes ensuring proper disposal of all medical and biological waste, as well as managing risks associated with transporting of HMR's biological materials.

The Rio Grande Valley, in deep South Texas has one of the pporest economies in the region, along with its share of health, education and employment challenges. However, luckily for Texas, it also produces some of the state's best leadership. One leader is State Represenentative Rene Oliveira, a Brownsville native, with first hand knowledge of the problems facing the border communities and ideas on how to solve them. Oliveira notes that the proximity of Mexico is a positive influence on the area and makes the region an open door for a large volumee of international comemrce. Says Oliveira, "When Matamoros, our sister city in Mexico, gets a cold, Borwnsville sneezes."

However noble your intentions are at the start of the semester, unless you change your habits now, you'll find yourself in the library, over-caffeinated, doing three weeks' worth of research in one night. The biggest advantrage you can give yourself (and your GPA) is to get organized and manage your time well. Like everything in life, your effort determines the results.
